It’s time to come up to the lab and see what’s on the slab with RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 queen Daya Betty. For Them’s Halloween series featuring queens from the drag franchise’s most recent outing, Missouri queen Daya Betty, who is season 12 queen Crystal Methyd’s drag daughter, transformed into Dr. Frank-N-Furter from planet Transsexual, the beloved mad scientist from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
This isn’t Betty’s first time at the Rocky Horror rodeo, it turns out. As she reveals during the video, she once dressed up as Columbia, played by Little Nell in the film, while doing a group costume with her gay friends in college. Throughout the video, Daya answers several other fan questions, including which queen she’d want to do her makeup, if she still makes her own clothes while she’s on the road and who’s the shadiest drag queen she knows.
Betty also addresses her own evolution since her time on Drag Race. While Frank-N-Furter is an androgynous drag look, something that Betty is comfortable with, she does address her drag becoming more feminine. On season 14, she admits to floundering a bit for having to do a hyper-feminine Jennifer Lopez-themed runway look, but has since dressed up as Pamela Anderson (well, Lily James as Pamela Anderson) and is open to her drag evolving even further.
